Welcome to
Moose Head Ranch!

We invite you to come & visit. Experience an authentic Jackson Hole Dude Ranch, that you too will want to revisit in memories, in pictures and in person.

"Thank you for a fantastic vacation. What a treat!"

- Doug, Lynn, Lindsay, Marie, William, Stuart

Why Choose Us?

Moose Head Ranch is unique.

Unlike other guest ranches Moose Head Ranch is privately owned, family operated and completely surrounded by Grand Teton National Park, providing our guests with a panoramic vista of the Teton Range. Imagine riding with your family and seeing elk, bison, mule deer and antelope up close. Picture meadows of alpine flowers such as lupine and fireweed as you gaze down at the legendary Snake River.

We believe in family vacations.

For us, this means you ride and eat with your children. Therefore, Moose Head does not have a “children’s ride” or a “children’s dining room”. At Moose Head you ride in small groups, usually just yourselves and a wrangler, at a pace with which you are most comfortable, not one that someone else is setting. Moose Head’s gourmet food is a pleasant surprise to our new guests, as it is not the norm for most ranches.

Moose Head takes pride in our staff.

They are carefully chosen for their personality, ability and character as we like them to be polite, respectful, knowledgeable and terrific role models. In fact, quite a few have had older siblings, or even parents, work at Moose Head. Dude Ranch vacations are not for everyone and a stay at Moose Head is unlike most experiences.

The Ranch

The Lodge

Welcome to Moose Head Ranch’s spacious lodge. Enjoy some early morning coffee in front of a roaring fire. Put your feet up and relax on our deck after a ride. Play ping pong with the kids. Bring your laptop and check your e-mail. Grab a cookie and some lemonade and read the paper. Join other guests for cocktails and hors d’oeuvres before sitting down to a delicious gourmet meal. It’s all here for you.

Cabins

Moose Head accommodates approximately 44 guests in comfortable and well appointed cabins that are scattered amongst the cottonwoods and pines. Many overlook our stocked trout ponds. Most have wood burning stoves and all are equipped with small refrigerators and coffee machines, and ice is delivered daily. Flowers are an important part of Moose Head, and hanging baskets can be found on cabin porches. Numerous well tended planters are everywhere and wildflowers are especially abundant in the Park as well as on the ranch.

Dining

At Moose Head our philosophy is that good food is just as important as good horses. We take pride in our food, having been featured in Gourmet Magazine. It’s easy to eat healthy with the many choices we offer at every meal. Breakfast offers an extensive buffet of freshly cut fruit and pastries with hot entrees made to order from the kitchen. The lunch buffet has a variety of fresh salads, a hot soup and entrée as well as Boar’s Head meats for sandwiches. Desserts, cookies and fruit are always available. Multiple dinner entrées, including fresh fish and game selections, are there to entice you.

Map & Transportation

Moose Head is only 18 miles north of the Jackson Hole airport (JAC), which is serviced by several different airlines, and most guests find it easiest to fly right into Jackson. It can be considerably less expensive to fly to Salt Lake City, and Moose Head is a 5 hour drive from there. You will definitely want a car while you are at the ranch, for running to town, going rafting or to the rodeo, Yellowstone or hiking. Louise is happy to assist you in making a rental reservation.
